Transformation
I was having a question deep within me about what is the the transformation results in spiritual practice?
When I started my meditation practice during my college days, what excited me was 'knowing'. I got exposed to a huge collection of literature and knowing felt overwhelming.
Then, after a few years, the shift turned towards experiencing the visions, dreams, and meditative experiences of being exciting me for a few years.
Then, the gradual shift was in intellectual expansion, and metacognitive skills were improving without reading anything. This awareness and expansion was exciting.
Then, I could clearly see myself and my patterns. The excitement gradually dropped, and a question arose from within what is the use of metacognitive analysis, where is transformation. At times, I realized small changes have happened in my tendencies, but still, there was a long way to go.
What to apply, how to apply, how much to remember to apply. But for sure the knowing, experiencing and understanding has a role in transformation though that is not the end of it.Then I realized that understanding of others creates more empathy, acceptance and forgiveness. Understanding my own flaws creates humility. But how to fix them, the only way I see I to surrender to God and pray for purity. This surrendering and praying is how transformation sets in.
