The way to contentment and peace

In life we may not have or get everything .But when we do not have or get that which we desire or expect it could give us pain. The intensity of pain depends upon the intensity of desire or expectation. So it is our own desires or expectations which give us pain or dissatisfaction.

If we want to lead a contented and peaceful life we could follow these depending on the situation:
1. Either we become passive observers to the events of life.
2. Train your mind to get rid of desires or expectations
3. If your desire is material and if it is righteous and benefits not only you but also
Others, use your will to put your efforts to follow your dreams
4. If we desire for abstract things and you are not lucky enough to get that which you desire then you try to be or give that which you desire instead of expecting to receive it, because being that could give you joy and keep you at peace.

Fascination Vs Reality

A few years back i had a feeling that nothing can keep me fascinated for a long time.
I had some thoughts on fascination recently.
"...Fascination is the expectation of the mind whereas to come to terms with reality is the craving of the soul ..."
This holds true for anything or anyone which keeps us fascinated.Fascination could give us pleasure. But it is inevitable that one day or the other we need to come to terms with reality, because reality is the craving of the soul and the law of life is to fulfil the craving of the soul.
The first glimse into reality could be a little painful, the intensity of pain could be directly proportional to the intensity of pleasure which was the result of fascination.
It is good to move towards reality and truth little by little instead of letting the mind be engulfed in the world of fantasy and fascination.
