Since a few years I have started admiring things in its natural state. The algae ,mud and water. The wild bushes and the flowers much more than the landscaping and cut grass.
The things which I had once overlooked seems so overwhelming in the recent years and gives a new realization to the truth behind the words " Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder".
Same goes with many other mundane things which I had overlooked. It's been two decades since I have adopted to spiritual way of life and not into rituals and idol worship, but in 2021 I had spent close to four months in chennai and was feeling overwhelmed with ordinary things which I never appreciated years ago. The small temples in almost every lane, it helps the common man to stop and reconnect within for a moment. Its a external means which leads to internal tuning. The way a taxi or auto driver decorates his vehicle with Jasmine flowers for the small idol, that is a means of constant remembrance. The way the rea shop copper boilers are decorated with sindoor and flowers show work is worship. Every practice had a spiritual inner connect but over the years the practice became a habit and the connect got lost and we are in a situation to choose other approaches through which we learn the the meaning of what we are doing.
